How Plato’s writings have been translated into English can affect how engaging and understandable they are to read. Most commonly, Plato’s dialogues can be found for free (for example, on amazon.co.uk in kindle edition) but these are usually the Benjamin Jowett translations that were done in the 1800s, and are generally quite hard to read.

These are the translations that have been used in this blog. Though Plato Digested is all about making these important works of philosophy easier to understand, no summary is ever a genuine substitute for reading the real thing!
